Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RMBL mobile and web applications (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service is free
Use of all features of the RMBL mobile and web applications is completely free for users. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or in-app purchases required to use the App.
2. Beta server availability
The RMBL server is currently in a beta stage. For this reason it is not yet publicly distributed to the general public. Availability, features, and stability may change, and the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during this period.
3. Self-hosting and source code access
Access to the source code required to deploy your own server is available on request by e-mail at info@rmbl.chat, following a validation process. We may grant or decline requests at our discretion. The right to provide the code remains with the author, and providing access does not transfer any ownership of, or unrestricted rights to, the code.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be old enough to form a binding contract and to use a messaging service in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Violate any law or the rights of others;
- Send spam, malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, abusive, hateful, or otherwise objectionable;
- Infringe intellectual property or distribute content you do not have the right to share;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data;
- Exploit, endanger, or solicit minors.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create. You are solely responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights to share it. You grant us and the relevant server operator the limited rights necessary to store and transmit your content so the service can function.
7. Intellectual property
The App, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by the author and protected by applicable laws. Except as expressly permitted (including the source-code access described in Section 3), these Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, especially during the beta period.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RMBL and the author shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the App. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We or a server operator may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users.
11. Changes to the service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date will reflect the latest version, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
